What types of computers are compatible with SecureDoc?

WinMagic's Minimum System Requirements for installing SecureDoc v4.9 clients are as follows:

  • Intel/AMD/Cyrix/other compatible CPU architecture (1 GHz or better)
  • 128 MB RAM (minimum)
  • 128 MB free space available
  • Operating Systems:

    • Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit)
    • Microsoft Windows Vista, SP1 (32 bit or 64 bit)
    • Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Home Edition, SP2 and 3 (32 bit or 64 bit)
    • Macintosh OS X version 10.6.4 and earlier
    • Linux OS (select 32 bit distributions only)

WinMagic's Minimum System Requirements for installing SecureDoc v5.1 clients are as follows:

  • Windows

    • Intel/AMD/Cyrix/other compatible architectures (1 GHz or better)
    • 512 MB RAM (minimum)
    • 500 MB free space available
    • Supported OS versions

      • XP SP2&3 (32 bit or 64 bit)
      • Vista (32 bit or 64 bit)
      • Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit)
      • Server 2003

    Note: PC laptops of Dell Latitude D620 class and up with 2GB of RAM installed exhibit acceptable performance characteristics with Windows operating systems when encrypted and are recommended for use with SecureDoc.

  • Macintosh

    • Intel Processor ONLY
    • 128 MB of RAM over and above OS requirements
    • 128 MB of free space for software installation
    • Supported Mac OS X versions

      • 10.4.9 to 10.6.4

    Note: MacBook Pro version 1.1 and up with 2GB of RAM installed exhibit acceptable performance characteristics with Mac OS X operating systems when encrypted and are recommended for use with SecureDoc.

  • Linux

    • Intel/AMD/Cyrix/other compatible architectures (1 GHz or better)
    • 256 MB RAM (minimum)
    • 128 MB free space available
    • Supported Linux Distros

      • SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop (SLED) 11
      • OpenSUSE 10.2, 11.0, 11.1
      • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Server 5.3, 5.4, 5.5
      • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Desktop 5.3, 5.4, 5.5
      • Fedora 10, 11
      • Debian 5.0
      • Ubuntu 9.04
