Making International Calls Using Your University Authorization Code
It is possible to dial international station-to-station calls using your university authorization code. However, this capability will be assigned to individual authorization codes by departmental request only.
To make an international call from the university using your long distance authorization code:
Lift the handset from the cradle. You will hear a dial tone.
Dial "8". You will hear a stutter dial tone.
Dial your long distance authorization code. You will hear a second dial tone.
After second dial tone begins, dial "011" + country code + city code + local number. If you are using a touchtone telephone, dial "#" to eliminate a ten-second wait. You will hear the phone ringing.
Please note:
You may look up your long distance authorization code by using the
LD Online service. International person-to-person calls require a long distance calling card and operator assistance.
Information on international rates may be found on our Long Distance International Rates page.
Country or City Codes or time differences may be found at http://countrycallingcodes.com
