Sending Messages as MIME Attachments
Sometimes it is necessary for ITS to have a complete, unaltered copy of a message to assist you with a problem. ITS may request such a copy for many reasons, including identifying a new source of spam or analyzing a security breach. The best way to send such a copy to ITS is by forwarding the message as a Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME)
attachment.
The instructions for the following applications will help you send an email message as a MIME attachment:
- Apple Mail
- Microsoft Outlook:mac 2011
- Microsoft Outlook Web App
- Microsoft Outlook (Windows)
- Mozilla Thunderbird
- UTmail
Note: Most mobile devices do NOT have this functionality.
