iPhone/iPad - Setting up AEMS

The following guide will walk you through configuring your iOS 6/7 device to connect to an AEMS mailbox.

Automatic Configuration

  1. From the home screen, select Settings.
  2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Select Add Account.
  4. When prompted, select Microsoft Exchange (iOS 6) or Exchange (iOS 7) as the account type.
  5. Configure your account by filling in the provided fields:
    • Email: Your primary email address (e.g. joe.user@austin.utexas.edu)
    • Password: Your UT EID password
    • Description: Enter a descriptive name for your account (e.g. UT Austin)
  6. Select Next. Your device will attempt to connect to the mail server to verify settings.

    Note: If your device is unable to automatically obtain the server settings, please attempt the manual configuration steps listed below.

  7. Choose which items you would like to synchronize (Mail, Contacts, and/or Calendars), then select Save.

Manual Configuration

If your device is unable to automatically obtain the server settings in Step 6 of the above section, you will be brought to a screen where they can be entered manually. Please enter the following before selecting Next:

  • Email: Your primary email address (e.g. joe.user@austin.utexas.edu)
  • Sever: wmail.austin.utexas.edu
  • Domain: AUSTIN
  • Username: Your UT EID
  • Password: Your UT EID password
  • Description: Enter a descriptive name for your account (e.g. UT Austin)

Removing Your Account

  1. From the home screen, select Settings.
  2. Select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Select the mail account you wish to delete.
  4. Select Delete Account and confirm your decision if prompted.

If your mail account lacks the Delete Account option, please use the following instructions:

  1. From the home screen, select Settings.
  2. Select General.
  3. Select Profile.
  4. Select the profile associated with the mail account you wish to delete.
  5. Select Remove and confirm your decision if prompted.
