Connecting to restricted.utexas.edu Wi-Fi: iPad

The following instructions will guide you through connecting your iPad to the restricted.utexas.edu wireless network. Please note that you do not have to be on campus in order to complete these steps.

  1. Make sure your iPad is turned on.

  2. Go to Settings, select Wi-Fi, and set Wi-Fi to Off.

  3. Go to General, select Reset, and press Reset Network Settings.

  4. Wait for the iPad to reboot.

  5. Go to Settings and select Wi-Fi.

  6. Follow 6a if you are ON campus. Follow 6b if you are OFF campus.

    6a. On-campus

    1. Connect to guest.utexas.edu.

    2. A browser window will appear. Log in with your UT EID and password.

    3. Follow the Click here to set up restricted now link.

    4. Select tap here to install for the restricted.utexas.edu iPad profile.

    5. If the Install Profile window does not automatically appear, press the Home button and return to Settings.

    6. The restricted.utexas.edu Install Profile window will now be open. Tap Install.

    7. Enter your UT EID password and tap Next.

    6b. Off-campus

    1. Connect to an available network.
    2. Once connected, open Safari, and go to http://webdb.its.utexas.edu/iphone/.

  7. Follow the install prompts to finish setting up your profile and connect to restricted.utexas.edu.
