Wireless Access for Visitors and Sponsored Guests
Visitors to Campus
Visitors may connect to the attwifi network. Use your device to establish a connection to attwifi, open a Web browser, and follow the instructions provided to complete setup. Support for this network is provided by AT&T who can be reached at 877-929-7678.
Sponsored Visitors, Guests, and Affiliated Workers
Visitors
Visitors on campus who do not hold active faculty, student, or staff affiliation status with the university may be sponsored for attwifi network access through the department associated with their visit. Visitor should contact the sponsoring department for information.

Departments wishing to sponsor visitors (e.g., conference attendees, guest lecturers, etc) may purchase coupons from the Campus Computer Store (ProCard or PO). Printed coupons are good for one 24-hour period use for up to three of the individual's devices, and remain valid for a year. Unique codes are created for large conferences ( < 1 week duration)-- the departments must provide the Campus Computer Store the number of devices they wish to support and the dates of the conference to obtain a quote. Pricing is available only through Campus Computers. Coupons and codes may not be used by students, faculty or staff. Departments should consult with their Technical Support Contact (TSC) to seek sponsorship assistance.
Sponsored Guest Accounts
In some circumstances a special guest may be sponsored by a department, and issued a Guest ID on the university's network, restricted.utexas.edu. The sponsoring department incurs additional liabilities by sponsoring a guest on the university's network, so these instances will be rare.
Departments needing to sponsor a guest on the university's network should consult the Technical Support Contact (TSC) for their department .
Affiliated Worker Accounts
Longer term visitors who require regular access to the network (e.g., visiting researcher on campus for a semester or long term contractor) will need an affiliated worker account and access to the university's networks. Visitors in this role will need to create a UT EID
if they do not already have one. Once the EID has been created, administrative staff from the department they are working with will need to assign the correct affiliations and entitlements in the EID system. For more information on affiliate workers please see the Introduction to University Affiliate Positions page (see the Public Network Assess notes in the Privileges section for details).
