Turn off the Unified Inbox (Outlook 2011 - Mac)

Outlook 2011’s Unified Inbox feature consolidates the inboxes of multiple accounts into one combined inbox. In some instances, this has been known to cause mailbox item duplication across accounts. The recommended resolution to this issue is disabling this feature when setting up multiple accounts in Outlook 2011.

  1. Open Outlook 2011
  2. From the menu bar, select Outlook, then Preferences:
  3. In the Outlook Preferences window, select General:
  4. Find the Group similar folders, such as Inboxes, from different accounts option and uncheck the box.
  5. Close the Outlook Preferences window to save.
