The University of Texas at Austin
As part of the Web Central Services Retirement project, the ITS website will be retired. Information about IT services will be replaced by two new sites, IT@UT and UT ServiceNow, and ITS departmental information will be migrated to a new location. All changes will be completed by 7/28/2016.

Satellite Programming

What Are the Downlink Capabilities of Satellite Programming?

Currently ITS can provide downlinks in both C-Band and Ku-Band. Programming you want us to receive must be "analog, in the clear." Upon special arrangement, we can receive CLI Spectrum Saver Digital Video and General Instruments VideoCipher II+ encrypted analog video.

For satellite terminology and links to additional information, visit our Reference Guide.

Taping or Streaming Media Encoding

Taping or encoding of satellite programs can be requested for instructional purposes. University guidelines regarding copyright are enforced when taping or duplication is requested.

For taping requests, email Visit the Webcasts and Streaming Media page for encoding information.
