SmartVoice Voice Mail (Legacy)
Ordering New SmartVoice Service
Using one or both of the bulleted lists below, add the required information and send it in an email message to
smartvoice@austin.utexas.edu.
Note: Additional information and tips on ordering a SmartVoice box can be found at the bottom of the page.
Ordering an individual box. Use this for boxes that will be used by only one person.

Ordering non-EID departmental boxes. Use this for boxes that will be used by more than one person or for high-turnover positions.

Ordering routing (menu) boxes. Use this for users who share a single phone number but wish to maintain separate mailboxes. You can order a routing box with a recorded menu listing up to 10 mailboxes for a single phone number.
- Specify that you want a "Routing Box"

- Name and EID for each user or specify "Non-EID"
Tips
- Highlight and copy the lists from this page and paste them into the email.
- Order as many boxes as you need in the same message.
- Cc: the end user(s) when you send your email. When we reply with setup instructions, we’ll reply to all, so you won’t have to forward the reply.
- Use customers’ preferred names. SmartVoice directory entries do not have to match the official UT directory.
- Please use an email signature with your (the orderer’s) name and phone number, in case we have questions about your order.
