General Settings for Connecting Through Secure FTP (SFTP)

You will need a secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) client to connect to disk services on austin.utexas.edu. While we recommend Fetch for Mac OS X users and Secure SSH for Windows users, we have provided the SFTP settings here to use with any SFTP client of your choice.

Note: If you are connecting from a computer off campus, please establish a VPN connection.

  • Hostname: "sftp.austin.utexas.edu"
  • Username: Your UT EID
  • Protocol: SFTP
  • Password: Your UT EID Password
