Is there a way to block unsolicited telemarketing calls and faxes?
Unsolicited phone calls
Telemarketing companies are required to maintain an internal list of numbers that should not be called. If you are receiving unsolicited telemarketing calls on a business line, immediately ask the telemarketer to add your number to the company's internal list of numbers not to call.
Unsolicited fax calls
Unsolicited fax calls usually originate from telemarketing firms. If you receive a fax call on your phone, follow these steps to stop receiving future faxes from that vendor:
Press either the FLASH, TRANSFER, or HOOKFLASH key while the call is active.
At the dial tone, enter the last 5-digits of your fax number to transfer the call to the fax machine.
Once the fax prints, follow the instructions at the bottom of the fax to have your phone number removed from the vendor's listing.
