Setting Up a Vacation Auto-reply

  1. Return to your home directory by entering the "command cd ~" at the terminal.

  2. If you have a .forward file, ensure that your .forward file is backed up.

    mv .forward .forward.old

  3. Enter "vacation"

  4. You will now be editing your vacation message (.vacation.msg) in your default editor.
  5. Close the file.
  6. Follow the instructions to enable your vacation auto-reply.
