Connecting to UTS via SFTP using Filezilla (Windows)

A secure FTP (SFTP) program uses File Transfer Protocol to exchange files securely between a server and a client. In the case of UTS, SFTP will make it easier for you to upload and download files between your computer and the UTS servers.

Connecting through SFTP using Filezilla

  1. Download and install the Filezilla SFTP program for PC.
  2. Open Filezilla and select File > Site Manager.
  3. Click on the New Site button and select SFTP from the Protocol drop-down menu.

  4. Select Normal from the Logon Type drop-down menu then enter the following information:

                   Host Name: uts.cc.utexas.edu 
               User Name: username   
               Password: password

  5. Click Connect.
