Connecting to UTS with Dreamweaver
You can connect to the UTS server via the Dreamweaver site manager tools. You can enter the information when you create a site or you can change the information when you edit an existing site.
Once you have set up the UTS connection information, you will be able to connect to your server from within your Site Window and view the files on your local machine and the files on the server at the same time.
Use these instructions to connect to your Web server using SFTP.
Dreamweaver CS3 or CS4
- Select Site > Manage Sites.
- Click New to set up a new site, or select an existing Dreamweaver site and click Edit.
- In the Site Definition dialog box, select the Advanced tab, then the Remote Info option.
The information for the Remote Info fields in older versions of Dreamweaver is:
Access: FTP
FTP Host: uts.cc.utexas.edu
Host directory: /usr/pub/www/your-site-path
Login: your-UTS-username
Password: your-UTS-password
Make sure Secure FTP (SFTP) is checked.
Dreamweaver CS5, CS5.5, or CS6
- Select Site > Manage Sites.
- Click New to set up a new site, or select an existing Dreamweaver site and click Edit.
- In the Site Setup dialog box, select the Servers category and do one of the following:
a. Click the Add New Server button to add a new server
b. Select an existing server and click the Edit Existing Server button
The information for the Server Info fields is:
Server Name: uts.cc.utexas.edu (this can be any name you choose)
Connect using: SFTP
SFTP Address: uts.cc.utexas.edu
Username: your-UTS-username
Password: your-UTS-password
Root Directory: /usr/pub/www/your-site-path
Web URL: https://www.utexas.edu/your-site-path
