Searching Address Books for Certificates Using Thunderbird
The university has set up two ways that you can easily find the public certificates for faculty and staff. This will let you send them encrypted information without requiring them to first send you a signed message.
Operating System: All
Application: Thunderbird
Open Thunderbird.
From the Tools menu, select Address Book.
From the File menu, select New and choose LDAP Directory.
In the General tab, enter the following information:
Name: "UT Directory"
Hostname: "ldap.utexas.edu"
Base DN: "dc=directory,dc=utexas,dc=edu"
Port: "389"
Click OK, then from the File menu, select Close.
