Encrypting Files on a Mac Computer

File encryption in the Mac OS X operating system uses the built-in FileVault program. FileVault uses a different encryption protocol than the digital certificates offered by ITS. Please refer to Encrypting Your Data on a Stand-alone Mac for instructions on using FileVault.
