As part of the Web Central Services Retirement project, the ITS website will be retired. Information about IT services will be replaced by two new sites, IT@UT and UT ServiceNow, and ITS departmental information will be migrated to a new location. All changes will be completed by 7/28/2016.


What Is UTBackup?

UTBackup is a personal computer backup service that uses a software client to store copies of selected files to an external storage device.

Who is eligible to use UTBackup?

UT Austin faculty and staff are eligible to use UTBackup.

How much does UTBackup cost?

UTBackup licensing cost: $18/device for licensing good through August of 2014
Data storage cost: $1/GB/year

Where does UTBackup store my data?

Customer data backups can be stored on any number of media from external drives to network storage appliances, in some cases simultaneously on multiple destinations if desired.

Is UTBackup Confidential Data compliant?

Absolutely. UTBackup encrypts all data transmissions, the data at its destination and meets Confidential Data compliance requirements.
