Installing and Opening SmartVoice Desktop Software


The SmartVoice desktop software, FirstClass, lets you log in to your mailbox on your Windows or Macintosh computer and perform any of the following tasks:

  • Listen to, reply to, and forward voice mail messages from your computer

  • Fast-forward and rewind within a call*

  • Customize SmartVoice to your personal preferences*

  • Schedule multiple greetings*

  • Forward voice mail to your email address

*These tasks are only available in the desktop or Web software. They are not available in the telephone interface.

Installing and opening SmartVoice voice mail desktop software

Important: You must be authorized to install software on your computer to successfully complete this procedure. Otherwise, please consult your desktop support staff.

  1. Go to the BevoWare site and follow the instructions to download the SmartVoice Client (in the Utilities section).

  2. Open the installation file and follow the prompts to install the client on your computer.

  3. Open the FirstClass program.

  4. Enter your UT EID and password. If you have a departmental (non-EID) SmartVoice mailbox, select the Non-EID User tab, then enter the login name and password provided by your department.

    Note: Non-EID passwords should be changed from the default. To do so, go to the Collaborate menu and select Change Password.

  5. Click Login.
