Connecting to UTS via SFTP Using SSH Secure Shell (Windows)

A secure FTP (SFTP) program uses File Transfer Protocol to exchange files securely between a server and a client. In the case of UTS, SFTP will make it easier for you to upload and download files between your computer and the UTS servers.

Connecting through SFTP using SSH Secure Shell

  1. Download SSH Secure Shell program for Windows and install.
  2. Open SSH File Transfer Client and click Quick Connect.
  3. Enter the following information:

                   Host Name: uts.cc.utexas.edu
                   User Name: username
                   Port Number: 22
                   Authentication Method: Password

  4. Hit Yes at the next menu, then type your UTS Password in the Password field.

  5. If you would like to save the profile, an Add Profile pop-up will show. Type a desired name for the profile and click Add to Profiles.
