Connecting to UTS via SFTP Using SSH Secure Shell (Windows)
A secure FTP (SFTP) program uses File Transfer Protocol to exchange files securely between a server and a client. In the case of UTS, SFTP will make it easier for you to upload and download files between your computer and the UTS servers.
Connecting through SFTP using SSH Secure Shell
- Download SSH Secure Shell program for Windows and install.
- Open SSH File Transfer Client and click Quick Connect.
Enter the following information:
Host Name: uts.cc.utexas.edu User Name: username Port Number: 22 Authentication Method: Password
Hit Yes at the next menu, then type your UTS Password in the Password field.
- If you would like to save the profile, an Add Profile pop-up will show. Type a desired name for the profile and click Add to Profiles.
