Navigating in WebSpace
WebSpace's navigation involves a system of menus and toolbars at the top of the screen. The Site Navigation menu, the Files tab, and the Reports & Tools tab are available on every page. Other menus change depending on the part of the site you are viewing.
WebSpace's various toolbars and menus are detailed below.
The dark gray strip across the top of every page is the Site Navigation menu, which allows you to do the following:
Return to the document manager by clicking the Document Manager link.
Alter your account settings by clicking the Setup link.
View the WebSpace help file by clicking the Help link.
Log out of WebSpace by clicking the Log Out link.
The Files tab displays the main document manager screen. This is the default view for WebSpace; the Files tab is automatically selected when you log in.
Storage Navigation Field and Search Bar
The storage navigation field displays the name of the folder you are viewing in the document manager. If the folder you are viewing is located inside other folders, the names of those folders will be listed as well.
You can click the name of a folder in the storage navigation field to view its contents. The buttons on the right side of the navigation field allow you to refresh the contents of the folder, manage the folder's settings, and bookmark the current folder.
The search bar is to the right of the storage navigation field. Use it to find files. You can access the advanced search feature by clicking the arrow to the right of the search field.
You can access the bookmarks menu by clicking the star to the left of the storage navigation bar.
The buttons on the left side of the toolbar allow you to manipulate files, while the buttons on the right allow you to upload files, create folders and wikis, and configure the left side of the toolbar.
The document manager displays the contents of the folder you have selected. Right-clicking a file displays a menu containing the actions you can perform with that file. The bottom of the document manager displays the number of files contained in the current folder, the amount of space used by the files, and how much space you have available in your account.
Customizing the Document Manager's Toolbar
You can customize the document manager's toolbar to provide you with quick access to the functions you use the most.
Click the View button on the right side of the toolbar.
Select the checkboxes that correspond with the buttons you want in your toolbar. You can select up to eight items.
Customizing the Document Manager's Columns
WebSpace lets you customize the information about files and folders that the document manager displays in its columns. This is particularly useful if you are interested in seeing which files are shared or locked at a glance.
Click the Document Manager Columns tab.
Select the checkboxes that correspond with the columns you want to appear in the document manager.
The Reports & Tools tab displays subscriptions you have created.
The Subscriptions tab displays your subscriptions and allows you to cancel subscriptions that you no longer want. The Subscriptions tab displays when you click the Reports & Tools tab.
