Creating a Wiki

Requesting a group, project, or department Wiki

To request a Wiki for a university-affiliated group, project, or department, send an email with the following information to help@wikis.utexas.edu.

  • The title of your Wiki

  • The space key (e.g. wikis.utexas.edu/display/XXX)

    Note: The space key is equivalent to the URL of the Wiki. Wiki space keys may consist only of ASCII letters or numbers (A-Z, a-z, 0-9). They cannot contain spaces, hyphens, or any other special characters.

  • Your UT EID

Creating a personal Wiki for individual use

Confluence refers to personal wikis as personal spaces. Students, faculty, and staff can follow these steps to create a personal space:

  1. Go to Confluence and click Log In at the top of the page.

  2. Complete the login form using your UT EID credentials.

  3. Once logged in, hover the cursor over your name to view the preferences menu.

  4. Click Create a Personal Space.
