Wireless Internet Access in Residence Halls

Students living in on-campus residence halls may access the Internet wirelessly by connecting to the utexas network. All residents receive Tier I subscriptions to Resnet (Residence Hall Network) as part of their Division of Housing and Food Service (DHFS) contract.

Where wireless networking is available, non-resident visitors to residence halls may access the Internet by connecting to utexas. While no Resnet subscription is needed, an eligible affiliation (current student, faculty, staff, or official visitor) or Guest ID is required. Students without a Resnet subscription must have a Bandwidth Subscription to access the wireless network.
