Creating a Mailing List
To own a mailing list, you must have an e-mail address in the "utexas.edu" domain. If you have an appropriate e-mail address:
- Log on using your e-mail address and mailing list password.
NOTE: if you do not have a mailing list password, refer to Logging On To UT Lists.
- Click the Create List tab.
- Enter the name you want for the list. List names must follow these rules:
- List names must be all lower case.
- The first character of the list name must be a letter or number.
- The rest of the list name can contain letters, numbers, dashes (-), periods (.), plus signs (+) and underscores (_).
- The list name name cannot have spaces.
- Choose the list type most appropriate for your type of list.
- Enter the subject of the list, and choose an appropriate topic for the list.
- Add a short description of your list, then click Submit your creation request.
