- Application: Microsoft Entourage 2004
If you have an Austin Exchange Messaging Service (AEMS) account, you can use Entourage 2004 SP2 on your Mac to access your e-mail and calendar.
Configuring Entourage for Austin Exchange Messaging Service
- Open Entourage. Close any wizards or dialog boxes that may open.
- From the Entourage menu, select Account Settings.
- Select the Exchange tab, then click New.
- Select the Configure account manually button at the bottom of the dialog box.
- On the Account Settings tab, enter "Exchange" in the Account name field.
- Enter your name in the Name field.
- In the E-mail address field, enter your AEMS e-mail address. If you are not sure what your AEMS address is, please refer to instructions on looking up your account information. Your address may take one of two forms:
- username@austin.utexas.edu, where username is your AEMS user name; or
- username@customdomain.edu, where username is your AEMS user name and customdomain is your hosted e-mail domain, such as blanton.edu.
- In the Account ID field, enter your UT EID.
- In the Domain field, enter "austin".
- Enter your UT EID password in the Password field.
- In the Exchange server field, enter "wmail.austin.utexas.edu". Do not add the "https://" prefix in this field. Note that when you enter this URL, the This DAV service requires a secure connection option will be selected automatically.
- Select the Advanced tab and enter "https://wmail.austin.utexas.edu/public" in the Public folders server field. Note that when you enter this URL, the This DAV service requires a secure connection option will be selected automatically.
- In the LDAP server field, enter "directory.austin.utexas.edu", then check This LDAP server requires a secure connection (SSL). Selecting this option will automatically change the Override default LDAP port field to 3269, which is OK.
- Click OK. If prompted, enter your username and password.
Once you have finished configuring Entourage, your Mac will automatically synchronize your data and download your mailbox locally. This may take some time depending on the size of your mailbox.
If you are going to use Entourage to access multiple accounts, refer to the document Managing Multiple Mailboxes (Mac).
