Accessing Your E-mail From Off Campus (Outlook 2003)

To access your Austin Exchange Messaging Service (AEMS) account using Outlook 2003, you must create a user "profile." Defining a profile tells Outlook how to locate and log into your mailbox on the server.
To access your e-mail from off campus:
- From the Tools menu, select E-mail accounts.
- Select View or change existing e-mail accounts, then select Next.
- Select Microsoft Exchange Server, then click the Change button.
- Select More Settings, then select the Connection tab.
- Select the Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP option.
- Click the Exchange Proxy Settings button.
- At Use this URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange, enter "wmail.austin.utexas.edu".
- Select both of the following options:
- Connect using SSL only
- Mutually authenticate the session when connecting with SSL.
- At Principal name for proxy server, enter "msstd:wmail.austin.utexas.edu".
- Select both of the following options:
- On fast networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP
- On slow networks, connect using HTTP first, then connect using TCP/IP
- From the Use this authentication when connecting to my proxy server for Exchange drop-down menu, select NTLM Authentication. Click OK.
