Recovering Deleted Items

• Operating System: Windows XP and Windows Vista
• Application: Microsoft Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, and Outlook Web Access

Some messages can be restored even after you have emptied them from your Deleted Items folder. This procedure only works on Windows in Microsoft Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, and Outlook Web Access (OWA) in Internet Explorer 6 or later. You cannot recover deleted items using OWA Light or Microsoft Entourage.

Microsoft Outlook

1. Open Outlook.
2. Select your Deleted Items folder.
3. Select the Tools menu, then select Recover Deleted Items.
4. Select the items you want to restore.
5. Use the Shift key and click to select adjacent items.
6. Use the Ctrl key and click to select non-adjacent items.
7. Outlook has a Select All option.
8. Select Recover Selected Items.

Outlook Web Access

1. Log in to OWA in Internet Explorer 6 or later. Do not select the "Use Outlook Web Access Light" option.
2. Select Options in the upper right corner.
3. Select Deleted Items in the left pane.
4. Select the items you want to restore.
5. Click Recover to Deleted Items Folder.
