Synchronizing Your Smartphone 2002 Device with Your Calendar

NOTE: You must have an active data plan with your service provider to connect your mobile device to your Premium account.

You can use ActiveSync to connect your Smartphone to your Premium account. ActiveSync is used to keep your phone contacts, calendar, tasks, and inbox synchronized with the server without connecting the phone.

Synchronizing Your Calendar

To synchronize your calendar items:

1. Start the ActiveSync program on your Smartphone.
   NOTE: When the phone is connected to a computer via ActiveSync, you cannot view or modify any ActiveSync configuration settings on the phone.
2. Select Menu and then select Options.
3. Select Connection and complete the following information:
   • Username: <your UT EID>
   • Password: <your UT EID password>
   • Domain: AUSTIN
   • Select Save Password.
   • Server name: "wmail.austin.utexas.edu"
   • Set logging to Brief.
4. Select Done.
5. Select Calendar and then select Synchronize Calendar. Select Done.
6. Read the warning about duplicate calendar items.
7. Select Yes to delete all calendar items currently on the phone, or select No to handle any duplicates yourself.
8. Select Done.
9. Select Sync. It may take several minutes for the first synchronization to occur.
10. If there are no error messages, the setup is complete. Select Options and then select Schedule to set your phone to automatically synchronize at a specific interval.
