The University of Texas at Austin
As part of the Web Central Services Retirement project, the ITS website will be retired. Information about IT services will be replaced by two new sites, IT@UT and UT ServiceNow, and ITS departmental information will be migrated to a new location. All changes will be completed by 7/28/2016.

Public Internet Access

AT&T Wi-Fi

The university has negotiated with AT&T to provision wireless (WiFi) access for visitors on campus. Visitors may use a credit card to purchase service similar to other commercial venues (AT&T may not charge some of its existing customers). Visitors simply select the "attwifi" network on their device, open their web browser, and follow the instructions.

For more information please see the Wireless Access for Visitors help page.

University Departments:

Departments can provide coupons/codes to visitors, to allow them to connect to attwifi at no cost to the visitor. Coupons/codes may be purchased through the Campus Computer Store by any departmental staff member with purchasing authority.

University departments may still sponsor guests for access to the university's utexas network; departments should contact their local technical support personnel for details and restrictions.

University Individuals:

This service is not intended and has insufficient capacity to be used by students, faculty, staff or official visitors. Those groups should utilize the university's wireless systems: utexas.

Contact Information:

Contact with any questions about UT's limited role. For support call AT&T at 877-929-7678 or Google "AT&T WiFi" for more information. To correct unintentional mobile device connections to this network see our Help page.
