Earlier this month, Information Technology Services (ITS) upgraded SharePoint services on campus to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS). The upgrade, which was implemented on January 3 and 4, provides improvements and new features for university SharePoint users, including:
- More search functionality, including the ability to search content across all SharePoint sites for which you have member privileges
- The ability to search for other university SharePoint users
- A "My Links" display of all SharePoint sites for which you have member privileges
- Site collection auditing
- Site collection usage reports
If you are a SharePoint site administrator, ITS recommends you verify that your group's permission sets are up-to-date, to ensure that the new search features function correctly.
