New ITS Applications Director Announced

Brad Englert, Chief Operating Officer for Information Technology Services (ITS), announced that Julienne VanDerZiel has accepted the position of Director, ITS Applications. Her first day will be Monday, January 31, 2011.
When making the announcement, he said "I am pleased Julienne has agreed to join us and know that her strong leadership skills, customer-focus and strategic abilities will be an asset for ITS Applications and the organization."
Julienne joins the University after more than twenty years of experience developing and supporting applications in both the public and private sector; she has led multiple, large-scale IT programs and projects.
Her experience includes directing business-critical projects to dramatically improve customer satisfaction, decrease costs, meet tight deadlines and control risks. She has led large teams and worked in complex, federated and decentralized IT organizations. With experience in both legacy and modern technical architectures and a variety of application systems development methodologies, Julienne brings a unique combination of skills to the University.
The selection process included a customer screening panel. Angela Svoboda, Director, Student Information Systems; Roy Ruiz, Director of Technology Resources, University Operations; Juan Ortiz, Senior Systems Analyst, Office of the Controller; and Mark Gunn, Associate Director, School of Law did not hesitate to volunteer their time and expertise in this important selection process.
