Everyone's Votes Counts - UT Austin's Learning Management System Evaluation
March 2, 2012
Mario Guerra, Instructional Technology Specialist, Center for Teaching & Learning and David Moss, ITS Project Manager, recently presented at the EDUCAUSE West/Southwest Regional Conference 2012.
“Everyone's Vote Counts: Building a Campus-Wide Consensus in a Learning Management System (LMS) Evaluation” provided an overview of the process used to identify campus-wide stakeholders, get them involved, keep them engaged and manage disparate interests to reach a consensus. A hundred conference attendees expressed interest in UT Austin's evaluation process, timeline and lessons learned, and a number mentioned similar evaluations are underway at their own institutions.
Identifying and meeting the Learning Management Systems (LMS) needs of students, faculty and staff is a challenge. The University's positive LMS evaluation experience is serving as a point-of-reference for those conducting similar initiatives. You cearn more about the LMS evaluation on the project website.
