UT Research Cyberinfrastructure Website Launched
March 23, 2012
Earlier this month, The University of Texas System launched the UT Research Cyberinfrastructure (UTRC) website. The UTRC initiative is focused on enabling researchers in all 15 UT System institutions to increase collaboration by creating access to advanced computational systems and new, massive data storage capabilities via high bandwidth capacity. This initiative will provide high-speed access to the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) resources which offer researchers some of the most highly advanced computing, data storage, and visualization systems in the world. Thanks to Chris Jordan at TACC and Pei Chen in ITS for serving in key UTRC roles.
The new UTRC website provides more information about this initiative, the schedule for UTRC network deployment, and Frequently Asked Questions, including an explanation of how to gain access to the TACC User Portal. UTRC is another great example of how investments in Information Technology can support game-changing, breakthrough innovation and scientific discovery.
