Project Meets Current Data Storage Needs, Plans for the Future
April 26, 2010
During the fall semester, Information Technology Services (ITS) launched the Central Storage project, a two-phase initiative focused on enabling ITS to cost-effectively expand and enhance centralized data storage service offerings for campus.
Phase 1 of the project is now complete. Phase 1 addressed the campus data storage needs for the next 12-18 months. The project's customer steering committee has confirmed the growth projections, endorsed the technical architecture and approved the purchase of new data storage hardware. This expanded capacity will be available for campus customers by the end of June 2010.
Phase 2 began shortly after spring break and will focus on setting the strategic direction for supplying campus storage needs over the next 3-5 years.
