ITS Director Receives The Eyes of Texas Excellence Award

April 18, 2013

William Green, Director, Networking and Telecommunications, received a fall 2012 The Eyes of Texas Excellence Award. He was chosen by anonymous student members of The Eyes of Texas, an anonymous campus organization that recognizes 10 deserving faculty, administration or staff members each semester who have made an outstanding contribution to student life at The University of Texas.

In part, William’s award letter stated:

As part of the shadow structure that is the essential arm of the University, it is often difficult to understand the power and depth of your contributions to the University. . . . Your willingness to listen and be responsive to the accelerated demands of new technologies like tablets and Voice over Internet Protocol provides the solid technological foundation from which learning and research thrive. You treat your employees as intelligent and hard-working contributors . . . which helps them grow and helps us retain great talent for the University. Your willingness to support and mentor students who wish to work with you is critical and inspiring. . . Thank you for making the University a better place to live, to learn, and to work.

Congratulations, William! Thanks for all you and your team do to improve student life at the University.
