New Apple Education Licensing Program Brings Huge Savings
May 6, 2011
The recently negotiated Apple Education Licensing Program (AELP) is bringing significant savings to more than 40 units across campus and 5 other U.T. System campuses. As long as the AELP subscription remains active from year-to-year, licenses will only cost $21 per licensed University-owned Mac computer and will cover OS X, iWork, and iLife.
Anticipated savings for those participating in the program will be about $115/per system, and participants will be able to upgrade to the latest Lion operating system this summer at no additional cost.Participating U.T. Austin units will be able to download the software via the UT Austin AELP site, and these aggregated subscriptions will be renewed on an annual basis.
Other units on campus interested in taking advantage of this pricing by aggregating their licenses and subscribing to the AELP should contact Cam Beasley, Chief Information Security Officer.
