ITS Summer Break Maintenance 2011

May 17, 2011

Information Technology Services (ITS) coordinates and plans a busy schedule of maintenance, changes, and new implementations during the summer break maintenance period. During this time, every effort is made to minimize disruption to the campus community and be sure customers and staff are informed in a timely manner of activities that might impact their ability to use specific services.

Infrastructure, network, systems and data center maintenance are all included in this large scale effort. Technical staff on campus are encouraged to pay particular attention to these campus-wide maintenance events:

  • On Sunday, May 22 and Sunday, May 29, from 8:00 am - 11:00 am the campus network will undergo maintenance during these windows. Portions of the campus network may be intermittently unavailable during these times.
  • On June 5, 2011, components of the central data storage environment will undergo maintenance impacting a wide variety of services including - but not limited to - MS Exchange email, all vServers, vDesk, Wikis, MSSQL databases, Austin Disk, Green printing, and the Document Repository.

Those interested in the full schedule of maintenance activities over the next months can view the Upcoming Maintenance calendar on the ITS Services Status page. The maintenance calendar provides information on upcoming planned maintenance and campus-wide blackout dates. You can also subscribe to maintenance notifications for specific services, including adding an iCal entry to Outlook.
