The University of Texas at Austin

Helping Celebrate the University's Most Recent Graduates

May 20, 2013

On May 17-18, 2013, the University of Texas at Austin held the 130th annual spring commencement. The events of the weekend, culminating in the campus-wide Commencement Ceremony at 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013, were a grand finale to the academic year.

Each year, Information Technology Services (ITS) staff plays a behind-the-scenes role in making sure events go off smoothly. Cole McClellan, Project Manager, ITS Networking, and his team, in particular, provided audio-visual services in 11 venues for 18 events, including live streaming video feeds for 4 events plus the main commencement webcast. The team also facilitated video overflow in 8 venues. Others were responsible for installing wireless access for the event, two security cameras and manning the Emergency Operations Center for ITS.

Special thanks to everyone involved in keeping IT secure and ensuring that the University's most recent graduates had such a successful commencement!
