Information Technology Services (ITS) is pleased to announce reductions in Fiscal Year 2009 pricing for a number of service offerings. In an ongoing effort to bring added value and cost savings to campus customers, ITS continues to research and implement new technologies, solutions and pricing models that can benefit IT at the university.
Beginning September 1, 2008, the following pricing changes go into effect:
- Microsoft SQL Server - Reduced from $600 per year to $150 per year
- MySQL Disk Storage - Additional disk space reduced from $45 per gigabyte (GB) per year to $7 per GB per year
- Virtual Servers - Standard VM (512 RAM, 10 GB HD ) reduced from $1200 per year to $700 per year
- Microsoft SharePoint - Branded URL reduced from $1,800 per year to $1,600 per year
- Austin Exchange Messaging Service (AEMS) - Available at no cost to faculty and staff with additional disk space reduced from $200 GB per year to $7 per GB per year
The following service changes will also go into effect on or before September 1, 2008:
- Purchase of Bulk Storage and SharePoint in Technical Resource Account Control (TRAC) - Addition of Austin Disk departmental storage and SharePoint subscriptions to TRAC interface, eliminating the need for manual contracts
- AEMS Account Management Interface - New interface for signing up and managing AEMS accounts
- Increase of AEMS Quota - AEMS default mailbox size increased from 150 MB to 200 MB
- POP Enabled on AEMS - POP enabled for AEMS customers
- SLA for MySQL - New SLA for MySQL
