New Encryption Solution for University-owned Laptops Is Launched
WinMagic's SecureDoc—the new enterprise whole-disk encryption system—is now available.
Eighteen early adopter units across campus are joining Information Technology Services (ITS) in the initial roll-out of SecureDoc. These departments are currently in the process of deploying the new software and have been asked to provide constructive feedback on their experiences as SecureDoc is implemented across campus. Currently, ITS is installing SecureDoc on all of its Windows-based laptops with December 15, 2010 as the target for completion. Members of the Managed Desktop Support team are contacting managers throughout the organization to schedule the installations. Based on this experience and feedback from customers, the campus-wide roll-out plan and schedule will be finalized and discussed with the Internal Audit Committee in December. The roll-out to most of campus is anticipated during the Spring semester.
