Stay Informed About ITS Projects
Wondering what ITS is focusing on? Stay up-to-date by checking out the Current ITS Projects page on the ITS website. This page is updated frequently and provides a good snapshot of key ITS priorities and progress. Brief summaries of two recent updates include:
- VoIP Task Force - Representatives from McCombs School of Business, the College of Natural Sciences, the College of Liberal Arts, the College of Communication, the Cockrell School of Engineering and ITS are serving on a task force, under the auspices of the IT Architecture and Infrastructure Committee (AIC) to review telephony needs on campus and determine a set of features, options, and services, that will be best in providing this service moving forward. The task force is chaired by William Green.
- Laptop Encryption – SecureDoc, the new Enterprise Whole Disk Encryption system, is on schedule to be available to campus in early November 2010. In December 2010, the Internal Audit Committee will consider the proposed policy change requiring encryption for all university-owned laptops regardless of data classifications
