The UT Directory White Pages Refresh Project - A Behind-the-Scene Success
The recent deployment of the new technologies that support the university's public directory is a great example of an Information Technology Services (ITS) behind-the-scenes project that improves service for campus-wide customers. The White Pages hardware, operating system, and directory services software were all upgraded to improve the stability, security, performance, and maintainability of the White Pages. When the cutover to the new environment happened earlier this week, it was seamless.
Members of ITS Applications and Systems helped in the design, development, testing and deployment of the new production White Pages Directory environment. Such a successful (a.k.a., very quiet and unnoticeable) transition was made possible with their contributions.
