(CS 620) XHTML & CSS
February 4 & 5 – 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
- Covers basic XHTML concepts, standards, elements, and attributes. Accessibility, meta data, forms, and tables will also be covered. CSS concepts covered include selectors and properties, element styling, and layouts (i.e., margin, padding, floating, absolute and relative positioning).
(CS 515) JavaScript Fundamentals
February 18, 19, and 20 – 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
- Teaches the core concepts in JavaScript to enable you to compose code from scratch. The following topics will be covered: Variables, data types, & syntax, Functions, Common objects and methods, and Events and event handling
(NA 225) DPUSER/TXAPPL
February 23 – 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
- Discusses DPUSER and TXAPPL applications, and their usefulness to developers. It is specific to the University.
(NA 250) Natural Data Formats and Types
February 26 – 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
- Discusses differences of the various formats including alphanumeric, numeric, packed, date, time, binary, integer, hexidecimal and logical.
(CS 521) jQuery
March 3 & 4 – 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
- Teaches those with an understanding of the fundamentals of JavaScript why and how to use the jQuery framework. Topics to be covered include the jQuery object, DOM access and manipulation, basic events, basic AJAX calls, and jQuery plug-ins.
(NA 260) Object Types and Data Flow
March 9 – 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
- Provides a thorough description of Natural object types and how they are used.
(NA 305) Efficiency in NATURAL and WebAgent
March 12 – 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
- Provides an introduction to efficiency in coding, tools and analysis.
(CS 526) Advanced JavaScript
March 17, 18, and 19 – 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
- Topics covered in previous JavaScript classes (CS 515 and CS 521) will be covered in more depth in this class, specifically objects, AJAX, event control, and accessibility.
(SY 202) Intermediate JCL
March 17 & 18 – 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- This class is intended for production analysts with at least 1 year of development experience. Intermediate and advanced concepts in Job Control Language will be covered, including JCL syntax, JOB, EXEC, DD statements, disk and tape datasets, system managed storage, and conditional execution
(SY 602) Advanced Datasets
March 25 & 26 – 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- Advanced datasets class for systems and senior systems analysts. Topics covered include, the system catalog, access methods, datasets: processing, generation data groups, partitioned datasets, storage technology, and *TXARCH.
(SY 601) ADABAS for Analysts
April 1 & 2 – 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
- Provides an overview of the internals of Adabas and Adabas command processing, how Natural and Adabas interact, and a review of coding efficiencies and monitoring tools.
(SY 604) MVS for Application Analysts
April 7 & 8 – 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
- Covers the MVS operating system, for application developers. Topics covered include history of hardware architecture, z/OS structure and services, including control blocks, memory management, workload manager, recovery / termination manager, COM-PLETE, and Unix system service.
(SY 605) NATURAL Internals and Utilities
April 15 & 16 – 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- Discusses the pieces that make up Natural, where they are and what they do, commonly used utilities within Natural, some under-utilized gadgets, and other useful odds and ends.
