Anti-Virus Software
Overview
ITS provides Microsoft Forefront Client Security for Windows and ClamXav for Mac OS X for use on and off campus by students, faculty, and staff at The University of Texas at Austin. Client software can be downloaded from the BevoWare site.
Microsoft Forefront Client Security for Windows provides:
- Anti-virus protection and anti-spyware protection with daily updates of virus definition files
- Malware removal and system recovery
- Anti-virus and spyware protection for Mac OS X users running the Windows operating system in a virtual environment
ClamXav for Mac OS X provides anti-virus protection with daily updates of virus definition files
Cost and Eligibility
ClamXav and Microsoft Forefront Client Security are provided at no cost to current students, faculty, and staff.
