The University of Texas at Austin has a MathWorks Total Academic Headcount (TAH) Campus Option license for MATLAB, Simulink, and 23 companion toolboxes, effective January 1, 2013.
Under TAH there is campus-wide access on university-owned computers by all faculty, staff, and students. Faculty and academic staff are also entitled to install TAH software on their personally-owned computers. Students are expressly prohibited from installing TAH software on their personally-owned computers. However, students who are university employees (e.g., teaching assistant, graduate research assistant) are considered academic staff and are allowed to install TAH on their personally-owned computers. Anyone who has been using commercial MathWorks licenses must continue to do so; TAH is for academic use only.
The TAH license provides unlimited use of the following applications and toolboxes. Individual units or researchers may require additional applications or toolboxes; please contact your respective unit to confirm or arrange availability of MathWorks software not on this list.

TAH is available at no cost to individual faculty and academic staff through a campus cooperative. Individual colleges, schools, and units contribute to the cooperative based on a mix of TAH product purchases in 2010, 2011, and 2012 and their actual use thereafter. TAH is evaluated annually for continued use by the cooperative funding the program.
