Licensing
Software licensed under this program is restricted to education users as outlined in the Red Hat Education Program. Use is governed by the standard Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscription agreement. These licenses are non-permanent, and do not last beyond a user's separation from the University.

Open Source Assurance
In response to customer concerns over intellectual property litigation over open source software, Red Hat has included the Open Source Assurance as part of Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This serves as a warranty on all open source code distributed with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and guarantees replacement of code and assistance with legal fees in the event of intellectual property claims by third parties.
