CYBER SECURITY AWARENESS MONTH 2007

“I’m unbreakable.”

Attackers can try to get in, but I know what to do to outsmart them. My strategy is a layered defense. This includes things like using strong passwords, installing a firewall and using the spam filter in my e-mail program. By covering all my bases, there is a better chance cyber crooks won’t find their way to my personal information or data. I also consider all IMs and e-mails from unknown sources suspicious. So far, I haven’t made a fatal click.

I know there is no 100 percent guarantee my computer won’t become infected, but doing what I can makes sense. It’s like locking the door to my apartment or not leaving my keys in the car. Why make it easy for someone to break in? I would much rather be unbreakable.
