Resnet: Residence Hall Network

Provides wired and wireless Internet access in the campus residence halls.

Cost: Cost varies depending on the amount of bandwidth purchased and whether residents sign up by the semester or for the academic year.

Virtual Private Network

Allows you to securely access the university's internal network just as if you were connected on campus.

  • Protect transmissions between your home computer and the UT network from being intercepted and read by someone on the Internet
  • VPN Private groups allows department network TSCs to grant off-campus access to members of their private groups using TSC utilities
