The directions do not reflect the options available when making selections (e.g. USER NAME field doesn't exist it is YOUR NAME). There is also little information related to setting up email when connecting from off campus. Additionally, I believe there's conflicting information when I searched for more information about setting up OUTLOOK 2007 for Win XP for connection from off campus. It would be nice to see some error messages that I received such as: "A system component, RPC, required by Outlook to connect to the e-mail server is not configured properly. For more information, contact your system administrator." along with possible solutions on a FAQ page. Also, the AUSTIN\EID information should include information WHERE to enter this info and whether the EID is upper/lower case specific? AND what do you do when it returns a message that there's an invalid character "\"? I'm really frustrated. Also regarding the cached exchange mode-- IF I use a desktop at home AND a laptop, I de-selected this option but when I couldn't get the darn email set up, I tried it all. Here's the URLs I was trying to use for assistance: http://www.utexas.edu/its/messaging/answers/outlook07-off-campus.php and this url: http://www.utexas.edu/its/messaging/answers/outlook07.php The connection info is conflicting. I'll try to get help but it's hard because this is my home computer (PC) and I'm on a mac at work. Help is closed when I'm at home. Thanks.
