Austin Disk Services
Overview
Store your critical files on a highly redundant system using disk storage space on austin.utexas.edu. You can access your stored files from multiple operating systems, synchronize your folders, and maintain a consistent interface from Windows machines using redirected folders.
Features
- Meets the minimum standards set by ISO for storing Category I Data using IPSec, secure WebDAV, or SFTP to connect. However, Austin Disk Services is not an appropriate place to store data covered under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Automatically synchronize work you do offline with austin.utexas.edu any time you log on with the Offline Folders feature of Microsoft Windows
- Automatically backs up your files three times per day to ensure your data is secure
- Supports end-user recovery of backups with compatible clients

Cost
Effective May 1, 2012, the cost for Austin Disk departmental disks will be $2.80 per GB per year, a drop from the existing $5 per GB per year. For Austin Disk personal disks, the same new rate will be effective Sept 1, 2012. Individuals can purchase disk space online in 1 GB increments, up to 20 GB. Departments can also purchase disk space online, with a minimum allocation of 50 GB.
