General Information for Students
"Follow Me" Printing is a new service that is being tested by a group of student volunteers at The University of Texas at Austin. The volunteers were selected by lab managers to assist in evaluating the service to see if it meets future needs for student campus printing.
What are the benefits of "Follow Me" Printing?
Imagine being able to send a print job from your personal computer to a variety of printer kiosk locations across campus! You choose when and where to print, and release your print job at any kiosk by swiping your University ID card then applying funds from your Bevo Bucks account. It’s that simple. "Follow Me" Printing is convenient, easy-to-use and good for the environment since it cuts down on wasted print jobs and does not require extra paper for banner pages. In short, it is a convenient and environmentally friendly printing solution.
Where are the kiosks?
Kiosks for the pilot project are available in three locations:
- Flawn Academic Center (FAC)—Student Microcomputing Facility (SMF), Room 212
- McCombs School of Business (GSB)—The Reliant Productivity Center (CBA 4.112A)
- Robert A. Welch Hall (WEL)—In the main corridor outside the lab, Room 2.302
How many volunteers are there?
Student volunteers were recruited from:
- McCombs School of Business (GSB)— 20-30 students
- College of Natural Sciences— 10 students
- Information Technology Services— 30 students
How can I use "Follow Me" Printing??
During the pilot, use of the "Follow Me" Printing service and kiosks is restricted to pre-designated student volunteers.
